During a time of unusual spiritual awareness, I recently discovered a connection to someone who lived in the 19th century. This person was not someone I had ever heard about, but she was married to a British painter who was somewhat well-known at the time. I discovered this link in a rather unusual way when I was led to look up a term on the internet which subsequently guided me to an image of a painting produced by this particular painter. I found it odd that the woman in the painting resembled me somewhat, not a lot, but to enough of a degree that I was curious about the painter. When I did a search on the painter's name, I was astonished to discover that he looks almost EXACTLY like my fiance. And then I uncovered pictures of his wife that look amazingly like me, with similar mannerisms, not exactly, but both of us laughed when we saw some of them due to the way she was sitting, the way she positioned her hands, etc., so very much like me.
So we did some more research, and I discovered that this particular circle of people does have some following in the art and literature world (they were both painters and writers). As we read about the lives of these people, we started to discover strange parallels, some almost like "inside jokes", little things here and there and some big things too. In many cases, we found both of us had overcome challenges that proved much more formidable for these people who lived in the 19th century. In fact, the person I'm connected to died of a drug overdose, and it is unknown whether it was accidental or suicide. These were not easy journeys.
And then the mystery grew even deeper, for I began to research the people in the lives of these two individuals. And I was stunned to see that some of the people looked A LOT like people in our lives today, also sharing some life parallels too, and in some cases even having the same first names. We have discovered at least 10 individuals in our lives today who seem to have amazing connections to painters or writers or their associates in the 19th century. And odd confirmations too. In one case, I was wondering about a particular individual's resemblance to someone dear to me today, and at that very moment, I glanced up at my white board at work, and my boss had written the full name of that person from the 19th century on my white board. I almost fell out of my chair. And I also received emails that day with the name of this same individual. It was a complete "coincidence" of course, and the name just "happened" to be the same as one of our customers, a very unsual last name too, one I had never heard before, and the first name was the same too. I shared the experience with a co-worker, I was so dumbfounded, and she almost fainted, we felt the "supernatural" aspect of this experience was so amazing.
Note that I'm not giving any names because this is not about self-promotion. Quite honestly, I have always been rather skeptical when somebody says "I was Cleopatra" or "I was Queen Elizabeth", and I have always chuckled to myself and said "I was probably a dust maiden somewhere". Well, although I must admit I have never heard of many of these people from the 19th century, others most certainly have heard of them enough to the point I can read about the details of their lives. And some of you may indeed have heard about the painter corresponding to my fiance if you have any interest in art, and you most certainly have heard of some of the people in their circle, some of them famous painters and writers of the day.
Anyway, I'm really curious now. Have any of you heard about similar experiences? Have you discovered any links like this in your own lives?
