:) Practicing Yoga Outdoors :)

Practicing yoga outdoors seems to be a great way to tune into nature. Filming Healing Depression with Yoga this past Friday reminded me that if you are going to practice outdoors, you need to be prepared. Here are some tips for when you decide to take your yoga mat outside.

[1] Choose an even surface. You may even consider putting down some tarp or a piece of wood below your mat.

[2] Practice in the shade and/or wear sunscreen.

[3] Have some natural bug repellent on hand to keep the small critters from distracting you.

[4] Keep yourself well hydrated

All-Natural, Home-Made Bug Spray

20 drops Eucalyptus oil
20 drops Cedarwood oil
10 drops Tea Tree oil
10 drops Geranium oil
2 oz. carrier oil ( such as Jojoba

Mix together in a 4 oz. container. Apply to skin as needed avoiding the eye area. Keep out of reach of children. Test on a small area of skin for sensitivities . Experiment with different percentages of essential oil.
