During Happy Hour (http://www.melissawest.com/index-15.html)last week we discussed many techniques for increasing your happiness through gratitude. One of the techniques we discussed was the gratitude letter.:)
The gratitude letter is a letter that you write to somebody who has had a positive impact on your life. You basically write them a letter thanking them for their positive contribution and then make an appointment with them and go and read it to them.
Until yesterday I had not written a gratitude letter. I thought it would be too emotional, too difficult. Yesterday I received the news that my 83-year-old Grandmother had suffered a silent heart attack and is experiencing fluid around her heart.
Yesterday I sat down and wrote my Grandma a gratitude letter. My Grandmother's health concerns made me realize that at some point it might too late to thank her for all the things she has done for me.
In the letter I thanked my Grandma for everything that I could remember she had done for me, from giving me money for my report card to having my wedding at her cottage. It felt good, it felt really good to recognize all the times and ways my Grandma had offered herself in service to me, her granddaughter.
I spoke with my Grandma last night. She is doing well and feeling fine for the most part. I am holding her in the light, keeping her surrounded with healing angels and praying for her recovery. Your prayers, distance healing, and positive affirmations are most appreciated.
