This is a huge topic right now and if you value your freedom to buy herbal supplements and use alternative therapies without needing a perscription then the moves by the FDA should concern you. The FDA is redefining herbal supplements and alternative therapies as treatment and medicine, which is strictly regulated, forcing practitioners into a subordinate role with physicians. And since AMA trained physicians are not trained in Complementary and Alternative therapies and are generally skepitical or outright dismissive, will unlikely support your access or use of them. This is a Big Pharma orchestrated movement, as they are threatened by the tremendous grass roots growth of the CAM industry that actually restores health rather than merely treating symptoms. This is fundamentally about money and profit, they need to continuously expand their market shares and people getting well cuts into that market and reduces profit. Well Sonia, I think FDA is just behind the money and that's why they have decided to take such decisions. I think there are couple of giant corporate pharmacy companies are influencing the decisions of FDA. So right now if we don't stand behind this then in future we may have seen such things more frequently.
