What is is like to be psychic

For the record, let me say that I typically try to steer clear of the work "psychic" because it tends to come with a lot of negative connotations. But it is still the most widely known word for the work. So I just wanted to grab your attention to get you here. But there are a lot of other words that mean the same thing, such as Intuit, Medium, Intuitive Counselor, or my MIL likes to tell people that I have the "gift of discernment", which I had to go look up what that even meant.
But in the end, the term doesn't matter so much. It's what one does with this gift.
I get questions often, from people that are really wanting to understand what it is I do, and how I get messages. I want to tell you that not all Intuits are the same in how we get information. It's totally different for everyone and although two people might end up with the same message, I gaurantee that they did not "see" that message in the same way. For me personally I have several ways I get information.
I get information in the form of feelings, thoughts, words, images, symbols or just a general sense of knowing. I do have the ability to see into the future and I am able to connect with those whom have passed over. That may sound like it covers it all, but actually there are many more things I don't do that other Intuits are great at. For example some people are good at being a Medical Intuitive. This is absolutely not a strong forte for me. There are also great psychic detectives. I seem to have a small bit in me to do this work that I'm sure if I strengthened could be even better, but some people are very cut out for that type of work. Or what about past life Regression? I do not dabble in this at all. Not that I don't believe in it, because I certainly do, it's just not where I tend to put my energy. So you see spirit works with each individual to help them "see" things how they can best.

One way to look at how a psychic gets there information is to imagine a radio. Spirit is the transmitter and I'm the receiver. I have to tune out the static and find the clearest channel in which to get clear information. Then as I stated earlier it comes to me in different ways. Sometimes I just have the strongest feelings. I can usually very clearly sense peoples emotions. In fact I have to be very careful not to take those emotions onto myself. Because often when I feel them, it is so strong it's like they are my own. If you are on the phone with me and you start to well up with tears and get a frog in your throat, I can feel that and I will start to well up with tears and also get that choked up feeling.
The things that I see are often symbolic and I have to interpert those messages the best I can. That is the tricky part and it's not always easy to do. That comes with a lot of practice and understanding of my own unique filters on life. No symbol is likely to be the same for two people. I actually don't like working symbolically so I often ask spirit to just give me direct, concise information that I don't have to try so hard to understand.
I also see things in my minds eye. Think of seeing your minds eye as when you close your actual physical eyes and you can see what's behind them. I get running movie type pictures, single shots, words written out.
And I do actually have a voice that speaks to me. It sounds like my own voice, but I know it is spirit speaking to me because when it speaks to me there is a detachment from my brain that happens and it does not feel like a thought in my head. I can very much tell it comes from somewhere externally. Sometimes it's so loud it does actually stop me in my tracks. I like those times because then there is no doubt about the message spirit wants me to hear. I always chuckle when it sort of "yells" at me..in a kind way of course.
As I said earlier upstream I also have the gift of knowing. Sometimes a person will say "how did you know that" and the only appopriate answer is:
"I just did. I just know" There is no other way to say it. It's a feeling in my body, it's also just this complete sense of awareness of the situation and there is no doubt about it and I just know... That is the hardest one to describe.
Lastly I want to mention Mediumship. This is the ability to reach out to people that have passed on. For a long time I didn't realize that all Intuits did not do this. I didn't realize that some Mediums were not psychics. But as it turns out, that is how it is. So I cannot say for sure when I figured this part of my gift out. It's just always happened naturally. I don't feel like I do anything extra or special to make it happen. I just do it. I just ask to see,hear,feel the person being reached out to and they usually "appear".
Meaning I can see shape and often details, like if they wear glasses, are they tall or short, what color their hair is and what sort of a vibe they give me familially, as in are they a Mother, Uncle, son etc. I think since I have no fear of seeing spirits, this just happens for me quite naturally.
