In 1965, Asha Praver enrolled in Stanford University. For many years she participated in anti-war protests and other counterculture events of the Sixties. Her deepest interest had always been Eastern Spirituality, and it wasn't long before this consuming passion caused her to drop out of college. In November 1969 came the day that changed her life. Asha attended a talk given at Stanford by Swami Kriyananda, a direct disciple of the great master of yoga, Paramhansa Yogananda (author of the spiritual classic, Authobiography of a Yogi). A few years later Asha moved to the Ananda Community that the swami had founded in the Sierra Nevada Foothills.
Building on her close associations with Swami Kriyananda, she served as his personal assistant, and later his secretary. Early on, Swami Kriyananda saw Asha's potential and groomed her for a life of leadership and public service. In 2007 she published Swami Kriyananda: As We Have Known Him. This work chronicles some of Asha's most inspiring personal memories of a modern sage, as well as those of many others.

"Is the Great Field as God a him or a her?"
"How will this understanding of soul alter the way in which the major religions pray and hope?"
"If soul has no feelings, but just awareness, isn't this the ultimate in sartori or nirvana?"
"If the heart is more powerful than the brain, how come society came to prefer thinking over feeling."

"Break Free Beauty" Love your body, all of it!
We're not thin enough, so we starve ourselves. We're not toned enough, so we exercise to exhaustion. We're not healthy enough, so we avoid all pleasurable food in favor of alfalfa sprouts. And we're not beautiful enough, so we keep ourselves apart from others and the love they might offer. In a culture that worships thin, young, fit, and perfect, few of us can measure up. And our obsession with what we are not has extinguished the joy and vibrancy of who we are. "There is a way out," says Sarah Maria Dreisbach of Break Free Beauty. "It is possible to love and respect your body, to be at peace with your natural urges, and not live in constant fear of gaining weight or growing old. I know the path to befriending the body is not easy. It is painful and difficult, and at times you may feel it is hopeless. But I assure you that it is possible."

Seven morning and evening practices to revolutionize your life.
This small book will change everything if you let it. It's Up to You is based on the twelve principles in Casey's Change Your Mind and Your Life Will Follow: tending to our own gardens, focusing on solutions not problems, letting go of preconceived solutions, changing our minds, acting instead of reacting, giving up judgments, giving up trying to control, discovering our own lessons, doing no harm, quieting our minds, treating every encounter as the holy, and discerning our mind's own truth.
It's Up to You invites readers to do three simple things: meditate, pay attention, and make choices to change their lives--for a few minutes each morning and evening, one principle a week for twelve weeks. As we reflect on Casey's insight into the insidious ways we create misery or drama, try to impose will, and suffer needlessly, and as we follow her gentle prompts to make different choices, we begin to see that we can change just about anything in our lives by taking these small steps. Nothing could be simpler, and nothing could be more effective. Or as Karen Casey puts it, "Progress is guaranteed. Perfection isn't expected."
* Karen Casey's message is simple--show up, pay attention, and your world will change.
About the Author
Karen Casey has spoken on spirituality, relationships, and personal growth issues for more than 20 years. She is the author of 18 books, all of which are devoted to enhancing people's personal/ spiritual journeys. "The Great Field" with author John James, PhD.
Therapist John James, PhD, draws on nearly twenty years of therapeutic practice to present elegant and sometimes startling conclusions about the nature of the universe and its implications for the human experience. Drawing on the established scientific wisdom of biology and astronomy, he shows that everything that exists has been created out of and within the vast domains of energy that form the Great Field, and that soul-that energetic part of us that connects with the universe-is as powerful a creative factor as DNA in our physical and psychic development.
Because his findings are based upon an innovative combination of scientific evidence, diverse cultural and spiritual wisdom, and therapeutic case histories, James' conclusions provide a stimulating and original theory of how the Great Field is the foundation of everything in the universe-including the personal energy we call soul.

“Patients Beyond Borders: Everybody’s Guide to Affordable, World-Class Medical Tourism”, with author Josef Woodman.
Five years ago, Josef Woodman found himself filled with a mixture of bewilderment and fear when he discovered that his father, then age 72, had traveled to Mexico for extensive dental work. Depiste his concerns his father returned, as Josef writes, tanned and smiling, with new pearly whites that would have cost him $24,000 had the work been done in the U.S. Instead he paid around $11,000.
From this experience the seeds of what would become Josef’s book were planted. Years later, needing dental work himself, Josef followed his father’s example, going abroad for his care. Even though he experienced quality care and pricing, he made a number of mistakes that created unnecessary difficulties and discomforts for himself. When he sought further information of medical travel, he found no reliable sources. This was the beginning of “Patients Beyond Borders: Everybody’s Guide to Affordable, World Class Medical Tourism”.

The Wellness Roadshow presents:
"The Human Antenna" by Robin Kelly
One of the great mysteries of biology is how the cells in our bodies can act in perfect synchronization. Simply raising your arm requires the coordination of billions of cells. How do so many cells communicate simultaneously and rapidly, to allow the body to act in such exquisite harmony? In The Human Antenna, London-trained physician Dr. Robin Kelly describes the mechanisms by which cells speak to each other. They communicate using electrical fields: our bones and ligaments are in fact semiconductors. This means that they can transmit both energy, like the power cord to your computer, and information, like the cable that goes to the internet. This semiconductive property of cells, first observed by scientists half a century ago, is key to explaining how information can travel from one part of the body to another.
This information exchange can happen as fast as the speed of light. Structures in each of our cells pick up and transmit signals from both inside and outside the body, like tiny antennae. Our DNA molecules themselves are semiconductive, and play a role in the transmission of energetic signals. These structures may also communicate back and forth with the quantum fields of the universe. Our intentions and beliefs are part of this matrix of energetic, quantum and cellular communication. The nature of these signals is interwoven with our health, and Dr. Kelly shows how by altering our thoughts, we can influence the messages that our cells are transmitting in every moment, to connect body to soul, and to coordinate with the intelligent universe in which we live.

The Caring Person, The Rescuer, The Guilty Person, The Giving Person, The Abused Person, The Insecure Person. If you fall into one (or more) of these categories, chances are you've been the victim of a PDI. You're sick of all the manipulation and the feelings of being trappedÂ-but just don't know how to stop the pattern. Psychiatrist and columnist Stan Kapuchinski explains that some toxic people have what the DSM II calls a personality disorder .
According to most institutions that study personality disorders, personality disordered individuals-PDIs-have a maladaptive and inflexible behavior style that firms up around adolescence and continues through adulthood. While the disorder is certainly deeply rooted, we don't have to take it, and Dr. Kapuchinski, a veteran in the realm of psychiatry, shows you just how to get out of the reach of the PDI's mental agenda and avoid his or her incessant need for adoration, attention, domination, control, avoidance, and dependency.

To the bartender, we must have looked like yet another crew of girlfriends meeting for drinks after work, probably commiserating the latest terrible date, the Mr. Big who didn't call, the guy who stood us up again. We were all in our thirties. We're all successful, independent businesswomen. We looked the part. Even under the circumstances, we pulled off the charade. But if you'd stopped and looked for another moment, you might have also seen us for what we were beyond the outfits we wore and the faces we put on each morning. We were changed. We'd almost forgotten the women we used to be before September 11.
~~~and so began their first meeting - Pattie, Julia, Claudia, and Ann, four women whose husbands worked at the World Trade Center. Before September 11, 2001, they didn't know each other, but in the months following that horrible day they came together, drawn as much by their diverse backgrounds as their shared tragedy. And from that first meeting, these four women formed an unshakable bond beautifully conveyed in LOVE YOU, MEAN IT: A True Story of Love, Loss, and Friendship.
"A Swan in Heaven" with special guest Terri Daniels
Danny Mandell was born in 1990 and adopted at birth by his mother Terri and his father Jim. As a young boy he loved Pokemon, swimming, skiing, fighter jets, Lego models and James Bond. Girls and women adored him, and he excelled at reading, storytelling and Nintendo until a hereditary metabolic disorder disease called Metachromatic Leukodystrophy took away his motor skills and his ability to speak.
Danny is a smart, funny, spiritually advanced, remarkable human being who died at age 16. He was a teacher and guide to all who knew him, but the greatest honor of all was that he began speaking to his mother telepathically from the Other Side almost immediately after his death. This book is the result of those conversations.
"imbee.com ~ Safe Internet for kids!" with Founder Jeanette Symons
This show airs "LIVE" Wednesday Dec. 19th, 2007 1-2 PM PST
When telecommunications executive Jeanette Symons' 7 year-old-daughter came home from a friend's house and asked if she could set up a page on MySpace, she panicked. She thought she was way too young to put herself out in cyberspace with no control over her activities. Her solution? She set up a server in her closet so she could connect online safely.
Soon, word spread through the neighborhood and dozens of kids started using Jeanette's closet server as a way to stay in touch and share their thoughts with each other online. As its popularity grew, so did her certainty that a truly safe online community accessible beyond the boundaries of her neighborhood was needed for tweens, and imbee.com was born.
imbee.com is now a rapidly growing site used by tens of thousands of kids. In addition, hundreds of teachers across the nation have also jumped on board, using imbee.com to teach their students about the Internet, post assignments, provide instant feedback on homework questions, and create blogs so kids can work together on projects.
Now the CEO of the Oakland, California-based imbee.com, Jeanette Symons has become an expert in the critical issue of on-line safety for children. As a parent and creator of a secure, age-appropriate social networking site for tweens, she understands how to meet the needs of kids who want to connect with each other on the Internet, and parents who want more control and security in this vast and often uncharted arena.
The Wellness Roadshow presents:
"And Now for the Good News"
with author Sue Ray and special guest Pamela Laskey
This show airs "LIVE" December 19th, 2007 2-3 PM PST
We've supersized our homes, cars, meals-and our news. With continuous TV, Internet, newspaper, and radio coverage-all that news time to fill-we hear the same negative stories, accompanied by the same negative images, over and over and . . . It's enough to leave us feeling hopeless!
Truth is, this hyper bad-news environment isn't giving us an accurate picture of our world. If we were aware of all the individuals acting with generosity and even courage to help their communities and beyond, the surprisingly positive trends regarding crime rates and international conflicts, the many businesses and organizations getting creative and making the world a better place, we'd see there's a whole lot to be optimistic about.
And Now for the Good News is an exploration of American news and media consumption and its effect on our individual and collective psyches. But more than that, it's a refreshing antidote to all the bad news, with positive news and trends and helpful resources that will leave you feeling inspired and motivated. Read it and share the good news-especially with your kids; they need some positive news, too.
The Wellness Roadshow presents:
"Take Me To The Truth"
with special guests Tomas Vieira & Nouk Sanchez
Why is this book all the rage?
It takes you straight to the root cause of unhappiness- your EGO- your saboteur blocking your capacity for consistent happiness and joy. It is provocative and should only be taken on by those serious about experiencing true love and spiritual awakening those really prepared to undo the ego and its insidious control. It challenges the popular "Law of Attraction" and why it isn't sustainable without dismantling the ego.
"I believe in this book so much that I wrote the Foreword for it. It's called Take Me to Truth and it's written by a couple of good friends of mine from Australia, Nouk Sanchez, an amazing and wonderful woman, and some guy. Oh yeah, actually it's her ex-husband, Tomas," says Gary Renard, international best selling author, and renowned teacher of A Course in Miracles.
"How cool that a divorced couple could find forgiveness and come to the point of writing such an incredible book about it. You won't find a book this year that will stick to the principles of A Course in Miracles as much as this book."
In this book two remarkable authors and spiritual teachers Nouk Sanchez and Tomas Vieira teach how to recognize the ways in which ego obstructs your way, and shows you in a practical real-life way how to release it so you can enjoy this life and find lasting contentment.
