Joseph Crane, Surviving Pluto
Joseph is a well-known astrologer and author. He is currently in the midst of a heavy Pluto transit. (Pluto conjunct natal Sun at zero degrees Capricorn). Let’s hear what it is like.
Astrology gets most quickly and profoundly to the heart of someone’s life conditions and present concerns. People often see an astrologer when their lives aren’t working or when they’re beset with situations they do not understand and needs a larger context. When somebody encounters astrological feedback it is often a confirming and liberating experience. Natal and predictive sessions are in person or over the phone.

Paul Laffoley
Topic: “Cosmic Vibrations”
Following studies at Harvard University and Brown University with honors in the Classics, Philosophy and Architecture, Paul Laffoley came to New York in 1962. He began as a studio assistant to the visionary Frederick Kiesler, and was recruited for late night TV viewing by Andy Warhol. Following a dismissal by Kiesler, Laffoley worked for 18 months on design for the World Trade Center Towers (floors 15 to 45) with Emery Roth & Sons under the direction of architect Minoru Yamasaki. Following his suggestion that bridges be constructed between the two towers for safety, he was summarily fired by Yamasaki. Returning to Belmont in 1965, he completed the first paintings of a mature style in the household basement against the wishes of his father. On Christmas Day, 1968, after a quarrel with a first studio partner, Laffoley was in immediate need of a studio and living accommodations. Having only one day to relocate, Paul found an empty room on the second floor of a downtown office building at 36 Bromfield Street in Boston, and immediately moved in. This studio would be infamously known as the Boston Visionary Cell (formally incorporated in 1971 as a non-profit art association encouraging art and architecture of the visionary genre).
Now clearly following his path as a painter, he began a highly original approach to the construction of the painted surface. Based on extensive hand written journals documenting his research, diagrams, and footnoted predecessors to various theoretical developments, Laffoley began to first organize his ideas in a format related to eastern mandalas that had captivated his interest in the spiritual. This format quickly developed into Laffoley’s three sub-groupings of work: Operating Systems, Psychotronic Devices and their related Lucid Dreams. Conceived of as “structured singularities”, Laffoley never works in series, but rather approached each project freshly, and individually. Working in a solitary manner, each 73 1/2 x 73 1/2 inch canvas can take one to three years to paint and code.
Since 1966 to the present, Laffoley has exhibited on a regular basis now totaling over two hundred shows including the Ward-Nasse Gallery until 1984, then with the Stux Gallery (Boston/New York) in 1985, and since 1988 at the Kent Gallery, New York. In 1989, Kent Gallery compiled and published the first monogram on Laffoley entitled The Phenomenology of Revelation. Laffoley also obtained his formal Architectural License in October 1990. His first museum retrospective was in 1999 resulting in the publication of the second Laffoley monograph entitled Paul Laffoley: Architectonic Thought-Forms: 1967-1999, to the Brink of the Bauharoque. A catalogue raisonne of the artist’s complete works is currently in preparation.

Steven Forrest
Topic: "Evolution With Astrology?”
Gazing through astronomical telescopes in his early teens led Steven to begin exploring astrology. He received a B.A. in Religion in 1971 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and shortly thereafter began to establish his astrological practice.
In 1984, Bantam Books published his first book, The Inner Sky. Esquire magazine called it "intelligent, well-written and actually fun." That volume was followed in 1986 by The Changing Sky. In 1988, with his then-new wife, Jodie Forrest, he released the third volume of the popular Sky trilogy, Skymates. Steven's fourth book was published by ACS Publications in May 1993. Titled The Night Speaks, it is an extended argument for the intellectual and philosophical plausibility of astrology. His fifth work, The Book of Pluto, was released in May 1995. Regarding that book, HOROSCOPE magazine described Steven as "not only a premier astrologer, but also a wise man." The two volume series, Measuring the Night: Evolutionary Astrology and The Keys to the Soul, by Steven Forrest and Jeffrey Wolf Green, is based on a series of lectures the authors did together. They were co-published by Seven Paws Press and Daemon Press in 2000 and 2001.

Moshe Berlin
Topic: “Astro-faces”
The general hypothesis claims that the astrological world-model that describes a correspondence between the configuration of heavenly bodies in the sky and the events in time is valid. The hypothesis claims that this can be demonstrated with photographs by showing that strong similarities between subjects' birthcharts are also visible in their appearances - that the Shape of Time is visible in our faces.
The working hypothesis for this correlational study states that people who share the same Sun, Moon & Ascendant will resemble each other to a greater degree than those who do not share those factors, and that these resemblances will be perceptible to viewers and measurable with facial recognition software.

Jodie Forrest
Topic: "The Mask We Wear"
The ascendant or rising sign is one of the most revealing points in the astrology chart. It is what others see when they look at us. Our sun signs represent our core, but the rising sign is what others witness.
Jodie has maintained a busy local and national practice as an astrological counselor, teacher and writer since 1983, when she joined forces with her husband, fellow astrologer Steven Forrest. They travel widely to lecture on astrological topics, and co-authored the book Skymates: Love, Sex and Evolutionary Astrology (Seven Paws Press, 2002). Jodie has written for magazines and newspapers, published poetry, and her articles have appeared in all the major astrological journals. She writes the astrology column for South magazine. With Steven, she wrote the text for a pair of relationship reports, The Sky We Share and The Single Sky, a joint project with Alphee Lavoie's AIR Software. Jodie also manages the Forrests' website. She has begun offering a series of workshops on the ascendant and published her latest book, THE ASCENDANT, in 2007.

“Kosmic” Kim Mannine
Topic: "Mercury Retrograde”
Kim Mannine is a lively, gregarious astrologer who uses lots of humor and insight to offer her take on the current planetary alignments. From her website she says…
“Astrology is an ancient language. The positions of the stars and planets in your chart at the moment of birth reveal the general direction of your life. It is the script that youre here to play, its the game board. It is said that a soul comes into life at a moment in time that the pattern in the sky is a reflection of that souls path. Whatever is going on in the sky at that moment is telling the story of that moment As Above, So Below.
Sun sign astrology is only a small part of the picture. Your personality, the mask that you show the world is described by the rising sign, also known as the Ascendant. This is determined by the exact moment of birth to the minute.
In order to time events in your life, especially major ones, are when a slow moving planet comes along and hits (or aspects) a natal planet in your chart. Different planets have different energies and therefore result in different circumstances.
To which I reply…how true!

Laurence Hillman
Topic: "Has The World Gone Mad?”
Thirty years ago Laurence first became interested in, and then quickly obsessed with astrology. Over time he have found a useful way to make astrology accessible to anyone. He does this by combining astrology with imagery from theatre. This effectively brings the complex language of the heavens down to earth.
He spends most of his time with clients in astrological readings. When someone asks him what a reading is, he says, "it is like going to therapy for six months but in one hour." This implies that readings are not monologues on my part. Rather, they are conversations where he guides us down a path to greater understanding about what is going on in your life. His main focus is your life calling, why you arrived here in the first place. he does not believe that our calling is necessarily our vocation. He is interested in human nature and how people choose to live their lives. When you call to get a reading then astrology becomes our tool to help you to learn new things about yourself. Applying metaphors, fairytales, mythology, Jungian thought, archetypal psychology, and practical ideas we expand your options in accordance with your nature.

Jeanne Avery
Topic: “Rising Sign Revisited, Pathway to a Passionate Life”
Avery's approach is different from the "stereotypical" method of interpreting a horoscope. She delves into the humanistic areas where people may truly be helped to release their creative potential. Avery focuses on energy patterns and pin points the best ways to tap into positive energy fields and translate them into practical every day decisions and events. Avery's goal is to heal psychological wounds and help each individual become more self motivated, thwarting any underlying and, perhaps, unconscious decisions that prevent ultimate realization of life's destiny. Avery is consulted by people in all walks of life and of all ages.
Avery is a leader in the field of past life regression therapy. These are sessions that people undertake to discover physical and psychological blocks that may exist from early childhood and from past lives. Through thousands of cases studies in the field of regression therapy and from the interpretation of astrological charts, she has helped uncover profound examples of life changing self-discovery. She feels that one most important revelation is a sense of continuity gleaned through the perspective of discovery of past lives. That discovery not only brings amazing healing into present existence but gives permission to set up the future in the way one chooses.. In the forefront of the nation's well-known astrologers, Jeanne Avery continues to explore and develop new methods to help people tap into the wellspring of inspiration that lies within. Avery believes fully that we have all the answers within ourselves. We just need to know how to bring that awareness to the surface.

Michael Galileo
Topic: "Where Does Time Come From?"
We all wonder where the time goes, but how about where it comes from? Michael Galileo is the pseudonym of artist/designer/inventor Richard Michael Kostura. The name represents the two sides of our existence, the unseen “spiritual” and the manifesting “physical”, both of which can be reconciled to find peace and truth in ones life.
“We are all artists creating our world every day. Time is our medium, and the universe remembers every stroke. Understanding the true nature of time is paramount in creating a successful life experience and a higher quality reality for all.” - M. Galileo
As Galileo, Mr. Kostura has had his unique views published in prestigious intellectual journals, and has been the subject of multiple magazine and television interviews and features regarding his application of metaphysical principles and quantum mechanics into every day life. He is also currently developing and patenting a new line of time keeping devices with assistance from NASA which reflect for the first time the true dynamic of the evolution of human relative time, as a way of helping others to orientate themselves more truthfully, and to better navigate their way through the continuous evolution of our physical world. He is also a member of Mensa USA, an organization whose only requirement for membership is an IQ in the top two percent of the general population.

Henry Seltzer
Topic: "Outer Planets Felt on the Earthly Plane"
Henry Seltzer has a graduate degree in Linguistics and has studied Computer Science, and attended MIT as an undergraduate, but his real study is Astrology and Tarot. Henry's study of Astrology began with an interest in Jungian psychological symbolism in 1975. He was immediately fascinated by how accurately the planetary patterns reflect individual psychological reality. He believes Astrology is a window from the material world into the spiritual. Because Astrology is based on concrete observable phenomena, and yet makes use of this data in an entirely different way, it forms a bridge between the scientific materialistic world view and that of the Artistic, the Esoteric, and the Spiritual.

Maurice Fernandez
Topic: "Where Did We Come From? - Evolutionary Astrology"
Maurice Fernandez has developed a unique interpretive approach to astrology, called Astrology and the Evolution of Consciousness. This approach builds on the concepts the concepts of Evolutionary Astrology and the understanding that life is essentially based on the requirement to evolve; we are not just meant to survive, but to become more conscious of the principles of life. Evolution consists of increasing awareness about the nature of existence we are born into.
The fact that the phenomenon of evolution exists implies that no living being has reached complete consciousness. Existence is supported by universall/natural laws, and only in assimilating these laws can we live in health, productivity, and satisfaction - materially, psychologically and spiritually, these laws are Truth. Everyone is subject to these universal laws, but most people are not aware of it; instead they are driven by internal hunger mechanically following external expectations.

Debra Clement
Topic: "Anchored In Astrology"
Debra’s goal is to make people aware of the empowering nature of astrology and to show them the benefits of applying it to their own lives. A student of astrology since she first read Linda Goodman’s “Sun Signs” at age 16, Debra credits this science-based art as the anchor that sustained her through difficult times. Convinced by years of experience that a definite connection exists between the planets and our lives, her purpose as an astrologer is to help people make the most of their planets and planetary cycles, especially the ones that test and challenge them.
Our lives, like fashion, real estate, and the stock market, are cyclical in nature, and the planetary movements act as an “early warning system” that alerts us to opportunities and potential pitfalls. In addition, the signs, locations, and aspects of the planets in a horoscope influence one’s personality, abilities, and purpose in life. By exploring their horoscopes, Debra is able to advise clients on building their strengths, overcoming any weaknesses, and expanding upon their talents.
Such insight is extremely valuable, because it provides clients with specific guidance to assist them in reaching their goals.

Henry Fiddler
Topic: "Plan S"
Plan S seeks to understand the root cause of our problems: the human mind. The three brain-mind disciplines of Evolutionary Psychology, Personal Development, and Neuroscience, reveal a path to success. Their integration reveals why as a species, we behave as we do, how this has caused our failure, and what we can do to move towards success. Since we are uninformed regarding how our minds work, we have been unintentionally and naively programming them for failure (i.e. collapse), rather than success (i.e. sustainability). Everything that Personal Development (the success industry) teaches can be applied not only to individual success, but also to species success. This is the key insight at the core of Plan S, which can lead humanity to live sustainably for the long term. Plan S is unique in the sense that it integrates all three brain-mind disciplines, along with hundreds of others, to move us into the realm of generalist thinking and problem solving (i.e. outside the box thinking). The result is paradigm shift.

Deborah Baccaro
Topic: "The Presence of the Departed"
Deborah Baccaro is a psychic with the unique ability to channel the departed. Deborah attributes most of her ability to events early on in her life mainly the illness and death of her 4 year old brother, Christopher, when she was only 3. Deborah believes that it was because she was so young and still so open that she knew very early on that her brother did not "die" as everyone else saw it. Somewhere in her little mind and heart she knew Christopher was always still around. It was this event that made her question reality, death, life, religion and physics from a very young age. At age 12, after reading an article about an unborn baby in Time magazine, information regarding life and the nature of time was suddenly revealed to her. She spoke of the past, present and future as being "One" - that essentially there was "no time", other than that created in our minds. We are much smaller and seemingly insignificant than we can ever know, yet so immense and powerful at the same time. This was the beginning of a new era for Deborah's thirst for knowledge and knowing.
Deborah is now a psychic medium who discovered her ability in August, 2001 when attending a funeral service for her sister's mother-in-law, Barbara. After a weekend of "coincidental knowledge" of the whereabouts of items in Barbara's home, and people in her life, Deborah received a message that said "I know about my face". This message related directly to Barbara's son, Richard, who kisses the picture of her face every night before going to bed. After this affirmation of her gift, Deborah practiced with people in the mall, people on the street, friends, family, acquaintances.
