How to add a CTR Host Page
to your RSS Reader
Q: What is an RSS reader?
A: Depending on who you talk to, RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication" or "Rich Site Summary." It's a simple program that allows you to read all of your sites or blogs that are updated frequently in one place. Each time a CTR Host page is updated, you'll be able to see the changes in your Reader. This is only for the "Upcoming Shows" and "Recent Shows" text on the CTR host page; you'll need to subscribe to the podcast in order to access the audio files.
Q: How does it work?
A: Simply add the feed for any CTR host page to your reader. Readers are free. Here's a few:
1. Google Reader
2. Bloglines
3. NetNewsWire
How to add a CTR host page to your reader:
1. First, click on the orange button under "Subscribe to this page" in the right hand column. It will take you to the feed, with a URL that looks like this:
feed://www.contacttalkradio.com/hosts/feeds/hostname.xml
2. Copy the feed URL.
3. Open an account with Google Reader or Bloglines or another reader, and click the link that says "Add subscription" or just "Add."
4. Enter the feed URL and click on "Add." You're all set!
